Default Origo countertop burner upgrade..

So...many of you guys have the same origo counter top burners. We stay on the boat a lot.....and find this thing to be a complete pain in the *****..!!! Couple years ago we broke the glass top(long story already told) anyway, I had a corian cover made up to protect the exposed burners. After some research I decided to upgrade and swap the origo out for a new True Induction double burner. Also purchased the magma induction cooking pots(haven't received those yet) anyway here is a couple pics of install...Click image for larger version

Very easy to remove....maxum decided to hard wire the power supply...the new induction cooktop came with a regular plug...so I went ahead and installed a box and a regular 110v outlet....leaving it on its own breaker on the panel...Click image for larger version

Used some painters tape...marked the size to expand the hole just about 3/4 inch...and the new cooktop just drops in...easy peassy....I think I will lift it back off and use some double sided foam tape. The true induction just came with one sided foam tape.Click image for larger version

ID:	4511love the new look...no exposed knobs...have not had a chance to use it yet, have great expectations!! I will report back on its functionality....I think I will still use the corian cover to help protect the cook top..

They actually make some cooking "mats" that you place on the burner to keep pots from moving. We won't need anything like that for our use. And for those that cook in rolling seas, a couple of pot holders could easily be made. Will keep you guys updated as I get to use this.....

Gmc, I believe one is a counter top model, made to move around. The other is a drop in and designed to mount to hole in counter top.

Gmc, I didn't have the full 2 1/2 all the way around. I think they use that figure for structure support?!? I didn't have any space issues. I cut the hole bigger on the far side and the right side, looking at counter top.
