Default NEW OWNER SKI TOW/PYLON

FIRST OFF, GREAT SITE. JUST JOINED TODAY. BOUGHT A 95 2400 SCR TWO DAYS AGO. PUT HER THROUGH THE NORMAL TRIALS AND SHE RUNS GREAT. I BELIEVE IT WILL GET A WAKEBOARD UP BUT NOT SURE. I GOT A KNEEBOARD UP BUT HAD TO TIE ROPE RIGHT ABOVE OUTBOARD ON THE TRANSOM TIEDOWNS. MY PREDICAMENT IS WHERE AND HOW TO PUT A SKI TOW RING SO THE ROPE STAYS ABOVE THE WATER. ALSO HAS ANYONE EVER PUT A PYLON IN THE HOLE FOR THE AFT LOUNGE TABLE? AND HAS ANYONE GOT A WAKEBOARD UP WITH THIS BOAT? 5.7 MERCRUISER. THANK YOU AGAIN FOR CREATING THIS SITE, ITS ALREADY HELPED THIS ROOKIE/NEWBY TONS. JB

You have more than enough power to get a wakeboarder up....

Have you looked into a wakbeoard tower? or something like an Insantiy pylong?

Have a look at these weblinks for some reference:
MonsterTower.com
Roswellwakeair.com
DIYWAKE.com
Insanitypylons.com

Hope that helps.

welcome to the zoo....if your using a tow rope from ring to ring on the transom...in the middle where your tow rope attaches..i'd stick a float there..the red and white kind like you see on crab pots......that should keep the rope off and out of the props...a wake tower would be ideal for your boat...

I use the transom tiedowns for pulling a tube. They have pre-made harnesses just for this. It has a float in the middle and a small wheel that keeps the tow rope pulling from the middle when you turn. I'm not sure how it would work with a wakeboard.

THANKS TO ALL. I THINK I HAVE DECIDED TO PUT A 2 1/2" TOW RING IN MIDDLE OF TRANSOM. IT HAS 3/4" WOOD WITH FIBERGLASS ON BOTH SIDES. I MADE A 2" BY 4" ALUMINUM REINFORCEMENT BRACE SO I THINK IT SHOULD BE FINE WITHOUT CRACKING GEL COAT. I WILL TAKE PICS OF INSTALL IF ANYONE WITH CRUISER WANTS THEM. THANKS AGAIN. JB
