Default New air conditioner?

1998 2800 scr
I'm considering replacing out marine air conditioner to a larger unit.
Currently it's a 6,000 btu unit build by Marine air.
I have had it tested and charged but doesn't help much during the day.
We live in NE Ohio
I know a few members have done this and hoping to get their thoughts on brand and sizing. I've read online about properly sizing the unit and think a 9,000 btu may be better suited for our boat.
Lastly what brands would you recommend. I'm considering getting another marine air brand.
Thanks BB

BB I bought a 10000 btu dometic brand A/C for my 01 3000 this spring. I had a friend in the RV business that I talked to for information that is a boater too. I bought the unit off of him with him installing it for around 1800.00. I could of spent 3 or 4 hundred more on a composite pan, I got SS pan, and insulation but didn't. It is what defender sell as a entry level a/c. Google marine a/c and you will get around 6 or 7 different companies. Most have a 1 year warranty . This also has heat too and came with a new thermostat.

Your boat size should have around a 9000 btu I would think.

Good luck
