Default need some detailing help

I know how to machine correct with no problems, can bring auto paint and marine gelcoat up to a mirror finish, BUT there is one area im having trouble with. I have a 1997 with the big plastic MAXUM decals with the gold paint on the inside. The buffer cant get around the letters and the minor oxidation there is not making me happy when i look at the rest of the boat.

Do i spend hours with a microfiber, or should i use an aplicator spounge to get it up to my high standards, or can mini buffers be bought? This winter i am planning to heat up and remover the lettering to give it a proper machine, i can then repaint the non existent gold finish on the inside, i will probably then put them back on or my the more up to date sticker decals. While this is idea for me it still doesnt over come the problem when i detail friends boats, there must be a way to get all around the letterings up to the standard of where the machine has been

you can get one of those redballs from an autoparts store....they get into tight places....I'd try one of those first..
