Default Need idea for tube tow hook 98 2400 SCR

The marina said there wasn't enough support on the back to mount a tube tow hook, so I returned it to West Marine. Do you think I could attach dock line to the port and starboard side stern cleats and run the tow line thru that and pull the tuber? Any ideas would be great.

Not enough support on the transom? that seems strange. A ski hook on the transom would be as strong if not stronger than cleats on the gunwale in my opinion. I pull adults on wakeboards from my transom mounted hook which is much more demanding than tubes.

I like West Marine for their product line, but I've had some of their sales guys give really crappy advice.

Racer2c did you have your hook installed or was it on the boat when you
bought it? Do you have any pics?
thanks

you can mount a hook there..just use some large flat washers to spread the load...and don't forget to seal it with 4200..should work fine!!
