Default Mercury control lever

HI to all!!
I `ve got a 2005 Maxum 2400 SCR boat. Control lever Mercury is working Ok, but it is loosened and has a gap, sometimes it is not easy to catch a neutral position. I wander is it hard to disassemble a unit and adjust it. I am afraid it can falling apart during dismantling.
Anybody has experience like that? Or maybe anybody has a drawing of Mercury control lever assembly?

I'm not familiar with that shifter. The base looks like a mercury shifter base. The shifter itself doesn't look like anything I've seen from mercury (Doesn't mean it's not, I'm just not familiar with it).

Usually, there is a neutral button on the hing, where that grey ring with two pan head screws is located. You'd normally need to carefully remove the button. There are normally 4 tension clips that need to be pushed in to release it.

Behind the button is a nut. That nut needs to be removed in order to slide the handle out towards you. Behind the handle are usually two additional mounting bolts.

Removing the mounting bolts will likely dropping the shifter assembly on the back side.

You should only need to try tightening the nut on the hinge, there should be no need to remove the handle itself.
