Default Maxum SR Hardtop Bow Covers

Has anyone ever seen hard top covers to cover up the bow rider seats in the SR range. I have the 1900 with a canvas top, I'd like to fix a fibreglass cover when the bow seats are not in use.
thanks

No heavier than the people who'd usually sit in there.
The SR has an open bow for seating. It only has a canvas top which is fixed by poppers or press studs. I'd like to find out if there is a detachable hard cover instead of the canvas closing off the bow all together. Sounds a little silly but when out on your own there is no real need to sit up there.

that would have to be a custom job...probably can be done for a nominal fee of about 3k.....your local fiberglasser can build one easily enough..just make sure it's reinforced so that the bouncing doesn't cause it to bend in the middle..

I agree, re-inforced in the way to go, you'll need to also have access to an anchor locker....all sounds expensive

What a coincidence! Just yesterday I was reading a thread on some miscellaneous boat forum where the topic was about "running the inlet at Fire Island in a 20ft bowrider". One poster recommended getting a hard bow cover so that if the skipper nosed it into a large wake/chop it would deflect. having never heard of a hard bow cover I googled it for a few minutes coming up with ziltch, nada, nuthin! then today I read this thread. I'd be interested in one if a manufacturer could get the cost down to about $800 to $1000.

But then I remind myself that I'm never going to be in the situation where I'm worried about nosing my bowrider into a wave.

My thought was a 3 piece kit for stowing away, then each edge of the kit would be strong enough to handle you standing on it should you need to drop an anchor or throw a warp line...maybe there is a market for this, come on you fibreglass specialists out there....

thoughts going through my mind:

1) when you're alone, there's nobody in the rear seats either..................but we're not worried about covering those if they're not be used?

2) When you do intend to have people sitting in the bow, what are you going to do with the thing.

I'd be strongly considering the logistics of getting it on and off and what to do with it, once it's off. Or worse, now that it's on and you need to go forward, will it be strong enough to support someone, or will you end up with spider cracks on it after some time? If it's strong enough to resist flexing, then it may not spider crack, but then you've got one heck of a big, unwieldy, heavy item to put on and take off.

If the concern is big waves in an open bowed boat.............I hate to say it....................but it's the wrong boat for the area, or the right boat in the wrong area. (depending on if your a glass half-full/glass half-empty person).
