Default Maxum 2900 SE Details

Hello everyone, have a nice Sunday, I am very interested in the Maxum 2900 SE. I only know the boat from pictures so far. I am most interested in the headroom in the cabin and in the bathroom. There are two 5 litre mercruiser MPI engines in the boat. Does the Axius cause a lot of problems or is it more or less reliable? What else do I need to look out for?
Thank you very much for your answers.
Best regards
Carl

Here is the manual for the boat.

I haven’t heard of any design issues with the Axius system but like anything they can fail. I would hire a good surveyor to go over the boat.

I had a 2003 2900 SCR with twin 4.3s and Alpha drives. It ran great once I replaced the aluminum props with 4 blade stainless, so the 5.0s should be great. I’m 5’-11” and had no issues with headroom in the cabin or head.

Dear All, now I have had the chance to see the boat in the water. Before that we did had only the opportunity to check the boat outside the water at land. Now hoe dissapointing Unfortunately, the boat is not lying straight in the water - it has a slight but visible list to starboard. This cannot be normal or what do you think.
Greetings Carl

I have seen different boats with a list to one side or the other. Did you see if the water tank is full, holding tank, …? Does it have two fuel tanks and if so do they have the same amount of fuel?

This could be a lot of things. Gear distribution, for one. My 2800 used to list to port slightly. The entire galley is on that side along with the fridge. I had 2 group 31 batteries on that side as well. When the water tank was full it balanced the boat a bit better. With a cooler slide to the other, side the problem was solved.

On the trawler I own now, we use a few hundred pounds of lead ballast. The lead ballast I use is reclaimed lead (mostly used lead from shooting ranges), in 25lb bags. They act like heavy bean bags.
