Default Looking to buy used Maxum - need advice

Hi All,

I am looking to buy a 5.9 mtr Maxum and have been told it is a 1989 model - possibly a 1900 series. The only infomation I have at hand at this time is what I believe is the serial number (USHE49MHA989). Can anyone tell me from this what the exact model is or point me to a site that may be able to reference this information. I have had a look at the Maxum site and it doesn't appear to be able to support this.

The boat has just over 400 hours total on a Mercruiser 5.0 ltr engine. All in all it looks in good condition for a 17 year old boat. 400 hours for 17 years seems quite low of course however it was used as a tender for a Sultan (Brunei ??) - and it still has faint markings which suggest this to be true. I am uncertain how long the current owner has had it or if there were any other owners in between but the boat does look in good condition and the engine shows no sign of leaks, wear or other (from the outside) obvious problems.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks in advance,
Mike

Default Hull number

Curious,
since my 2100SC has a Hull number starting with "MXPA" the MX indicating Maxum. I'll do some searching today, but your best bet would be to send an email to Maxum directly. From that number it is an 89 model as indicated by the last two digits.

I'll have to research this some more.
