Default Leaky hull joint

My 1998 2800 SCR is getting water in through the deck joint in a few spots. When it rains, I find that some of the screws with bolts as well as some of the machine screws are dripping water. I assume the only way to fix this is to take off the rubrail in sections, unscrew a couple of the bolts and screws at a time, remove caulk, rebed with some sort of caulk, and put the screws back in and tighten? I know I simplified what I would believe to be a very complicated process. Has anyone fixed a leaky hull/deck joint and if so, what process did you follow. Thinking about making this my Spring project.

Yes rebedding is required after some time, I have had to do so yet.

A question to your question ; Did you fix it ? I have a similar problem in few spots and if I remove screw, it will not be fitted again unless I fill screw holes with epoxy! Another problem is; I think that if you remow all rubrail it will not fit to the same place again due to deformation. Please share your information after fixing it.
Do you also having problem with handrails ?
Best Regards

Nope, I did not tackle this project yet. I have been reading up a bit and I think that the only thing I can do is to try to target the areas that I can get to. My plan next Spring is to take a few screws and bolts out at a time and try to do this area by area. Remove a section of rubrail, remove a few bolts, rebed, and put back together. I will let you know how I make out next Spring.

Thanks and best of luck. Consider that sometime fixing a minor issue leads greater ones.
