Default Leaking Tank

Good morning, I come from Germany and have a problem with my Maxum 2300s. 1996. V8 5.7L The tank is defective. How do I get to the tank? Do I need to separate the deck? Or extend to the back. Unfortunately, no one in Germany can help me. I hope they could understand my English. Many thanks from Germany
King Regards
Andreas

Default fuel tank

I don't know what the problem you have is, but the tank is located underneath where the rear table hole is. So when my fuel gauge stopped working it was easier and cheaper to drill a hole immediately behind the table leg to fit a new one then cap it off afterwards.

The problem is, gasoline runs out of the tank into the boat. When I refuel it flows into the engine compartment

I need to remove the tank and repair it or replace it. But I only get off the engine side or I cut open the boots deck

Andreas can you post some pictures of the deck? Is the leak occurring all the time or just when refueling? If the latter it may be the fill hose and not the tank. If the tank needs replacement the deck will need to be cut to gain access as it has tie downs that need to be undone and may also be foamed in place.

you Should be able to seethe aft of the tank just in front of the engine so you can get the width there. Not sure about the length. Is there an infloor locker? If so the tank will stop before it.

Hello. Thank you very much for your help. I'm going to get the engine out next week and try my luck with the tank. I will send you pictures of my success or failure.
I try to cut it open without cutting the deck. It will be an adventure

Hello varo01 I have only just begun to dismantle the bulkhead to the tank. I'll continue with the intermediate deck next week. I will send you photos. This is a big piece of work with a lot of trouble.
Best regards

Varo01 I literally just finished this major project on a (new to me) 2002 SCR2400. Just my luck 4 days after I bought it, I started seeing fuel in the bilge. In order to remove the tank in the SCR2400 I removed the outdrive, piss tank, 5.7l engine, cut the aft cabin floor, cut the bilge bulkhead behind the 70 gallon fuel tank and finally cut 20" up on the aft cabin bulkhead. This took me 6 weeks to do by myself. I have a ton of pics but I cant figure out how to upload them on here. Not sure if you can PM me and I will share the info I have. Oh yeah, this is also my 1st post on here.

I had to put in a new gas tank in my 2900 SCR:
Remove engine. Remove bulkhead between gas tank and engine. Slide back tank. CUT TANK IN HALF, it's too big to get it out whole. Remove tank(s). Replace with smaller, plastic tank. I went from 100 gallon tank to 55. Then put her all back together again.

Varo01 you are welcome. Here is the fuel tank dimensions. If you need anything else don't hesitate to ask. Oh yeah, take a ton of pictures while you're taking it apart, it will help you in the long run.
