Default Just got my MAXUM! Please Help!

Hey guys! Just bought a 1996 Maxum 1900XR with a 120 Force engine. Needs some upholstery work, but overall looks nice.. Can anybody help me with a few questions?
1. Where can I get a wiring diagrams and owner manual for my boat. The gauges are dead but the engine cranks over. I already have a wiring diagram for my engine.
2. How do you get the console off to check the wiring, replace gauges and add a new depth finder and remove old radio.
3. Also has anybody pulled up carpet? I have one soft spot around the center storage area. Do I have to remove the whole thing?
4. What is the best filler for cracks in the sides and seats? I heard Magic mend is good.
5. Lastly, I have a depth finder button..Where is the finder located?
Any help would be really appreciated. I start work on it this weekend! Hooray!

Welcome aboard

Under Documents you will find the manual for the boat however I doubt it will be much help.

Get a Force manual for the motor.

Most likely the entire carpet is one piece so it all must come up to fix the soft spot. Not sure I understand your question on the depth finder, are you asking where the helm gauge is to the transducer?

Looking at the picture of the helm there are two blank gauge spots one of them would be for the depth gauge so it does not look like the boat is equipped with this option.

Can you tell me where the bilge pump is and how many speakers are standard with my boat? I only see 2.

I suspect the bilge pump would be just forward of the motor well. Is there a access panel to the bilge there?

You might want to split some of these out into separate threads instead of having a single run-on thread with all of your questions. This thread is soon going to have multiple concurrent conversations going at the same time.

Think of it this way. If were all standing around the dock, you wouldn't walk up to a group and start asking multiple random questions at the same time.

The easiest way to get the console off is to remove the back bow seat cushion that is directly in front of the steering column (half dozen screws). Then you can access the retaining nuts to the dashboard. The common ground terminal is located in that compartment also, I would start there with your diagnosis

I know this is a very old thread but for the benefit of other members who may search threads for info on the 1900xr (like me), your answer to this question is incorrect. The depth finder is absolutely on the dash. See that little rectangular screen to the right of the horn button? That's the depth finder screen. When the boat is powered up and the depth sounder button is activated, that screen will light up and show the depth.
