Default Interested in a '94 1800/XR with Force 120hp outboard

Hi Just found this forum. I'm thinking about purchasing the above mentioned boat. I've been looking for a bowrider with outboard motor for a while and came across this one that is in very good shape (except trailer)
Would like some input from the owners of this boat.
-How many adults can fit with no problem?
-How reliable is this motor?
-Anything else to particulary look for? (going to do compression test, check motor carefully, tap hull and transom with plastic hammer. check deck for spongy spots....)

This is going to be my first bowrider if I buy it (I had a jet boat for few month).

Gab
welcome to the zoo..... :hello:

sorry I don't that much about force engines other than they are made by merc...but overall..if the previous owner took good care of it...it runs well...go for it....
if you do buy it...make sure you replace the raw water impeller first ..then oil and tune up stuff...that will give you some serious peace of mind...

I have the same boat. We love it. I was pulling the kids on a tube today with it. The capacity plate states 7 persons or 955lbs. That is a joke. You can do 4 adults ok. We have had 3 adults and 3 kids onboard. Any more then that and you are literally stepping on each other. I can't tell you much about the motor. Mine came with the upgraded optional Mercury 115.

Thanks for your input! As you can see from the pictures it's a well maintained boat.
I like this boat better than any other Bowriders I've seen so far. It look more sleek and "fancy"

My total price is going to be $3200 with "new" (as new condition) galvanized trailer.
Does it sound like a good deal to you?

That is a 1700XR. It is 17ft with a 7'4" beam. I am not sure of the capacity of the 1700. If you know the hull ID # the 7th and 8th characters will be MF. Price guides list the value between $2700 and $3000 with a trailer. It is in very good shape and looks like a nice boat.

Thanks for pointing that out! I took a quick look at it last friday and I remember that total weight was below what you mentioned but didn't think that it could be a 17 instead of 18 (guy listed it as 18ft).
it's good in a sens because max towing weight on my car is 2000lb so I should be within the limit with this one.
