Default Installing a generator - 3000 SCR

Has anyone had the pleasure of installing a generator? I am thinking about getting a 3.0kw that will run the air and all other accessories. I have been using a Honda 2000 watt but it is a hassle.

Any watch outs before I jump in over my head?? They actually have a video of them installing one on a 28 Bayline and made it seem pretty easy and straight forward. Ya, right!!!

yeah....shoot yourself in the foot for thinking of it...get the honda 2k genny...it will be money well spent....but there is a few small gennies that don't require too much cutting for the instl...I'll see if I can find the website for you...

my maxum came with a 4.5 kva genny...it's a great unit but we rarely use it...and out of 5 yrs...we've got 28hrs on it.....weterbeke is one of the best and that's a great little unit...it's quiet and clean..about 99% clean....

so..the hard part is going to be routing the wires up to the ac panel and drilling the water inlets and outlets...if you decide to do it..insure that you use solid brass hull valves...and stainless steel hull penetrations...

thanks again for the replies.....

My thought process is to install the unit and do all the parts and pieces I can do and then have the "shop" do the others - thru haul stuff, fuel line, etc. I will have the intake water hose all ready to go they just need to drilll and install the valve. Hopefully by doing it this way I save some $$

I use the Honda generator daily as we seem to stay in one spot for a period of time and love our hot water showers
