Default Identifying stolen 1990 Maxum 2100

Hello everyone :-)

Quite a while ago our boat was stolen, and vanished until recently. We noticed a sales ad with the same unique characteristics (replaced engine).

So now the boat is impounded, and we need to prove that it in fact is our boat, and thats where we would embrace some deeper Maxum knowledge.

How do you identify model year of a Maxum 2100 with bogus serial numbers and a replaced engine ?

All help is much appreciated.

Regards Ronnie

Has the hull number on the stern been modified?

Lots of time the manufacture will stamp the HIN somewhere on the inside of the hull as well, shrew may be able to help try PMing him. Also if you have pictures from before it was stolen it may help your case if there are unique features.

YOu could try calling Brunswick Boat support line - 865-971-6311 and give them your HIN and see what the factory colors were. Then give them the bogus HIN and see what colors that boat had, and, if a boat was even produced with the bogus HIN.
What about titles? The bogus HIN should have at least the previous owner's info.

If the boat is impounded, then the police can call Brunswick. Brunswick customer service will tell them where the hidden HIN is located. They can compare that against your title/registration/P&S documentation to prove it's yours.
