Default Hi everyone

Hi, have just joined and wanted to say hello to everyone, including the two who seem to be the major players, Maxum 2300 and Seapuppy. First time i've been on any sort of forum, so will need some time to get going, and most of you seem to be american, apart from Cymru who is presumably from Wales! Anyway, we have a 2700SCR, based in Jersey ( that's Jersey Channel Islands UK..not New Jersey) and I'm from the North of England, in York ( that's York, not New York - so old they named it once...!)
Will need to ask lots of questions, we have upgraded from a Bayliner 2455, love the Maxum, but I want lots of advice and help, first question, have I written too much?

Default Thanks

Thanks for the reply SP , already made to feel welcome! Would love to post a pic of the boat, but havent worked out how to do it yet! Or how to find my way around the site!
Anyway, one question - we have a rib attached to the bathing platform by two chrome spring loaded brackets and one is broken - I'll need another. Will I have to buy in pairs from a dealer and throw one away, or does anyone have a spare they would sell and post to the UK?
When I've used the site a bit more, I'll know my way around.

it sounds like you have weaver davits on the swim step....or what is called the swim platform...
you can take it off the platform and temporarily plug the holes ...send it back to weaver davits...they usually will send a replacement or repair yours if it's possible.....usually for just the cost of shipping.....I'd shoot them an email before you do anything ....but I've heard their customer service is excellent....

let me do some research and I'll see if I can find thier website..

Wow, SP what brilliant service! You are a star! I will check their website and let you know how I get on. Unfortunately there will be long gaps between actually having my questions answered and then putting the advice into practice, as we live in the North of England and the boat as I said is in the Channel Islands, 400 miles away!
We go as much as we can, usually 4 times a year, so the next visit will be February for a week. We used to have a Rinker Fiesta Vee 242 up here in the frozen north, but found we spent more time on the one in Jersey, 'cos we had to live on it when we went.
Anyway, ta again for the tip........
SH
ps, how do I attach a pic...? You may as well see the boat you're advising me on..... answer in easily digested instructions please...

wow...400 miles to the boat  .....amazing.....and I complain about my boat being on the other side of town!!...

to post a pic..your pic must be be hosted on a website..either a free site or some other place that can host photo albums....
once you get them saved on the web...then come here and select a reply or new post....then on the buttons above..there is one named Img.... a set of will appear and you post your address of the photo between the ctr 2 brackets......ie...[img]http://........jpg[img ]....this will post the image onto the new post....should be fairly easy.....

welcome to the zoo again...hope you enjoy the site!!..
