Default Fishing possibilities

Hello,

My wife and I have just recently purchased a 2001 Maxum 1800SR from a family member (we take possession this summer) My question is this...Is it possible to put downriggers on a boat like this for fishing. I know it is not set up to be a fishing boat BUT that is one of the things I would like to use it for at times Can anyone give me any guidance on what kind of setup would be efficient for this type of boat?

Thanks I look forward to the replies

Dave

First welcome Dave!..All I can say about the downriggers is if you have room to mount them on the stern deck go for it..What part of michigan are you from? I can understand why you want to use them.

We found and bought our 3000scr in Benton Harbour/St Joe,Mi

Good luck

Roger

Welcome Aboard Wozboater!! I agree with roger. If you can find a place to mount them suitably, including getting to the underside to through bolt it properly with washers, then go for it. Possible and practical are two very different things, however.
