Default first weekend out!!...wooohoooo!!

Well..we just got back from our first overniter on the boat for the year...after doing all that work and costing close to 3boat bucks ...everything went well...everything worked...had a few minor things that I needed to fix ...got most of them done but I still need to do a few small things....but the boat worked flawlessly.......

the weather is supposed to turn to poop tonite so we opted to return early to avoid 4 ft seas and hi winds.....so...descression is the better part of valor.....we got home and put the boat back on the blocks and cleaned her up...drained all the tanks and manifolds...etc...washed the hull and put the heaters on...

now ..for the first time we decided to try our shower....marsha did it last time...alot of the marina's we go too don't maintain their showers well...so she ends up taking a cold one...plus some are just down right nasty with mold and such or needs cleaning....she tried it last time and thought it was great...so...I got to try the shower and believe it or not..other than it being a touch cramped...it worked out great....plenty of hot water..of course you have to concerve ...but surprisingly it worked quite well...I did discover that I need to make a few minor mods ...mainly seals to the door and mods to the shower curtain....but other than that ..it was pleasant......

hope everyone had a great weekend....I'm pumped about this yr....except for the price of gas....that is gonna suck.....

I am envious. All I see is ice up here. Mind you we are off to Cuba in a week, so relief is in sight, albeit only temporary.

I look out at the lake and all see is ice and snow. Two months from boating season. I think I might go snow skiing next week! Glad to see the boat worked well, you never know whats going to happen that first boat ride of the season.

I approach the high price of gas by equating it to a ski lift ticket. When I spend a day in the mountains with the family, it invariably means a $200 to $300 hit. By comparison, a day out on the water is cheaper. Both are great family activities with fresh air and exercise and lots of smiles and I happily pay the ski resorts and gas companies for the privilege. Well, maybe not happily, but it is a fair trade.

Default Week Day Out on The Water

My family and I took off on the boat last Thursday and had a ball. This was our first all day out since I bought the boat one month ago. Everything worked great on the boat. The crew is still learning all aspects about our 3700 SCR. The windlass gave my wife and sister a little trouble but they figured it out. Lots of sun and big smiles ofr all. We loved every minute of our day!

We're (hopefully) going back in the water this Wednesday . The coming weekend looks pretty good so far, so we'll probably go out on a short shakedown cruise. We got tons (and $'s ) of major work done last year, so maybe we'll get by with just some minor fixes this year.

Default We're in the water!

Splashdown today!! Boat started on the 3d crank after sitting all winter. That's probably the quickest it's restarted since she was new in 1996. Ran like a top. Hope these are all good signs/
