Talking Fire alarms

I've never thought much about fire alarms on the boat...it's such a small space and I am sure I'd smell something burning if something did start...but then it dawned on me...I have 2 Co monitors in the boat..one in the fwd salon and one in the midberth...but no fire alarms....they are cheap...you can get one anywhere and they only cost about 10-20 bucks...you can get one even in the local stores....
so..got a fire alarm for the boat last weekend and all I need to do is install it on a bulkhead fwd...
you guys have one???..if not ...you should get one...they are cheap....it might save your life!!

I don’t have one either. It had crossed my mind once but my assumption was that the smoke in itself was co2 and would also cause the alarm to go off. If you are saying that is not the case then I think you are spot on. It would never hurt to have. I even wondered about having one in the engine room but blew that off too. Food for thought...
