Cool engine bay heater

I would like to put a (safe) heater in the engine bay .Just to keep it dry over the winter and keep the chill off But not drain the bank????. Anyone use heat tape or something like that????. The engine is winterized.

I"ve heard of some people using a simple light bulb in the engine compartment. It puts off enough heat to keep the condensation at bay. I haven't tried it myself but I"m planning to this winter.

I use a 700 watt dryer ..one of those round ones that plugs into the extension chord....it helps keep the engine bay somewhat dry.....don't forget to cover the air intakes......that will help alot..

What do you use to cover the air intakes?

Default Have you seen Tubular heaters?

I use a tubular heater in my engine bay during the coldest spells.

It's a 2' 120W one mounted on piece of 4x1 pine. Cheap to run and as they are completely sealed they are safe in damp places like greenhouses and boats etc. I sit this in the well under the engine to stop the engine area getting down to freezing temps.
I also lay a warm double duvet over the top my engine for the winter which keeps it snug!
I'm sure these will be available in the US? Have a look at this link for more info about them.
