Default Edelbrock 4BBl quick questions

Hi all. I hope you are all safe and well.

Please could someone clarify for me if there actually is a difference between Automotive carbs and Marine Carbs.

Will 5.0 and 5.7 use the same jets?

And finally...are the footprints all the same for edelbrocks whether they came off a Plymouth or say a Chey vortec?

Thank you muchly.

The primary difference is for safety and that is the bowl vent which is designed to prevent an overfill from running out of the carb and onto the engine. The marine carb directs it into the venture. Base plates are the same. Edelbrock has a marine carb which I think is model 1406 and is 600 com.

+1 on what Mike said.

The marine version is p/n 1409. It’s a standard square bore footprint, so it’s pretty universal in fit. I’ve found then easy to tune. Jets/metering rods are available in kits to calibrate the A/F mix for each application. Factory setup is usually spot on.

Note. Edelbrock is pretty serious about running only ‘real’ gas thru these carbs. E85 or other ethanol pump gas will void the warranty.
