Best of luck to you and Inge, Ed, I hope you get back on your feet - or at least on the computer, in short order.

east-west the hospital is never the best.....home sweet home

as i think you all understand...... i'm home....the operation went oke, they took the abces inside my rectum away...and made some other repairs on the outside of my backside.......sitting is very painfull again (but after all these months in the passed i'm used to it,....so....ppppffffftttt) a piece of my backside is open again,....so i prefere lying down on the sofa/couch.....i felt fine today so i asked the doctor if i could go home.....he said yes....you have been here the last year more than enough.... so he gave me extra medicines for the pain, 2 sorts of getting no infection and some more stuff.......and after work my royal highness queen inge picked me up......so here i am....sooner than i expected (expected to be in the hospital for about a week or more) the most i do is sleeping all day because of the drug/narcose you get when you are operated and dont want to be awake when they are busy......and because this was the 8th time in 1 year that i have been away during all the operations a'm getting more and more tired.......and it will take a lot of months befor that will be gone........but i've got time till march....then its boating time again......

so now you all know that i'm save and at home i can lay my head resting on my pillow........thanks for all your nice and warm words....it realy helped me getting through this.....knowing that on the other side of the world people care about me and my woman.....

thanks......your all great

as usually.....greatz, ed

lazy basterd
hey ED
have been operated and under narcosis 3 times in a year (that's a few times less than in youre case) only a while ago
recovering from that will take a bit more than a few month's.
getting rid of the effects of the narcosis in youre system takes minimum 1 year
but
what the hell
you still have 50 to go

and
it's a good thing we live in the netherlands, at least we don't have to pay for all that fiddeling around

Default Thanks

First off Ed thanks so much for directing me to the Canadian prople for help with my porta potty.
On a more personal note... Just before Christmas I was diagnosed with bladder cancer. What a surprise. I'm fairly young, work out, eat well and have never smoked...but I was a fire fighter and engineer in the Navy..deisel oil and asbestos..go figure.
ANYHOW the thing that I was told was one of the most important factors in surviving was having a support group. Well I didn't join AA or any survivor group, but I kept logged into Maxum owners and Catalina owners groups (yes I'm a transvesselite) and even though I have not said anything until now, watching everyone on line and, as I recovered, going down and tweaking our boats, has been my support group. After a course of Chemotherapy, Johns Hopkins Hosp. removed most of what was between my belly button and... well you know...everything down there. Since August I'm back to sailing and crawling around in the bilges and tweaking our Mercruiser

BUT what I'm trying to say is that, Ed and Inge, and everyone else, your posts have bouyed me up and kept me afloat.

I'm sure you know that there are a lot of others out here who you have helped and who are pulling and praying for you too.

Not to make light of the situation, but my nurse has confirmed that Gin & Tonic IS a clear liquid.

Thanks to all of you and best wishes John Gadsby

John
first off.....thanks for the kudo's to the site....boating is like family and most of the time we try to make the best of it...help each other....support each other...
like you guys..11 yrs ago I came down with an auto immune disease....almost killed me...doc's gave me 6mos to live....long story short....between my friends, family, work...I was able to beat it.....so far...boating has kept me going..(until I wrecked the boat last summer)....

so...this site is here to support and help each other....as boating...when someone needs help...we're here to help best we can....

we wish we could get the lurkers to join in ....but for the ones that come here often...please keep posting....even if your here to say HI....

John....your a survivor...you want to injest stuff tastes the same going down as it is coming up!!........congrats on defeating the beast of cancer.......engine oil and asbestos is a tough one....congrats on beating it.........
