Default Considering 2005 1800 MX as a first boat

Hello Everybody,
I'm considering to buy this used boat as my first boat EVER. The usage of the boat is for a weekend family fun on the single lake we have here in Israel Maybe will do some ski/wakeboard pulling someday....
The boat is supposedly in GREAT condition. The seller claims it has only 150hours on it (still didnt take it for an inspection to verify). I'm attaching several photos. What do you think about this boat as the first one and what should I look at while inspecting it? Just to clarify, the boat comes with Mercuiser motor.

Welcome aboard!

The boat looks clean but I would take it for a test ride to see how it handles and verify it doesn’t overheat. Use an IR sensor to take readings of engine and exhaust components. Nothing on the engine should exceed 160 F and the exhaust components should not exceed 120 F. Also check for soft spots in the deck. Lastly check all fluids for proper level and that they look clean.

Thanks for the reply. How do I check for softspots? Just walk the deck and push hard with th feet to see if it gives under the weight?
Given Maxum no longer exists, is it an issue for the spare parts?

Yes that’s how to check for soft spots. Maxum only made the hull which typically may only need gelcoat repair. All other items were supplied by companies that still exist such as Mercruiser, Perko, Taylor, .... however like any other boat an exact replacement may not be available as the part is 20 years old.
