Default Compass left in boat over winter?

What do you think?? I hear conflicting data on if freezing can harm your compass.
I'm using a Ritchie F-50.

won't happen...the compass is filled with a light may get a bit slower to turn if you move the boat...but it won't freeze...

Don't compare your life to others. You have no idea what their journey is all about.
