Question CO Detector

Do I need to install a CO detector on my boat ? It's a 2000 1800xr with a Merc 125 o/b. Does a boat / engine of this size need one ? and if so, could someone recommend what I should use and where it should be located? Thanks

Any enclosure where people sleep should be protected with a CO detector.

That was the first thing I added when I bought my 2755 SCR.

Smoke alarms as well.

I certainly agree with you for a boat where people can sleep.
For a 18' dual console bowrider ? If it makes sense, I will certainly get both, just not sure if I am going overboard (no pun.....)

CO detector is not needed for an open bow. IMHO

Not required by law nor would I make any sense to have one on your boat.
