The boat is officially mine! I’m working with my captain to schedule getting moved from Connecticut to my place in Maryland. Hopefully she’s here before Memorial Day.

Awesome! Two families that were backed up across from me on the dock last year had those exact boats. Really nice layout, and my wife is jealous of the full sized sliding entry door. Hope you get many happy healthy retirement years to enjoy it!

Well the captain is all set to leave Connecticut tomorrow and start the trek home. He lost time taking the other boat north when it lost the port engine half way through the trip. Hope the return trip with my boat is uneventful.

Light hearted question. If one engine goes out, is it difficult to keep the boat straight ?

You will be fighting it to track straight. In the case that happened to my captain he lost the port engine so the force from the starboard engine keeps pushing the bow to port. Constant rudder adjustments to correct.

Well day 1 and only made half the distance he hope but the boat is now on the hard. The starboard exhaust thru hull seal failed allowing sea water into the boat. Turns out these are some type of plastic and the exhaust hose appears to only be a few years old and cut a little long putting outward pressure on the fitting cause to be pushed outward and bow to break the seal. To top it off port alternator died, it’s covered in old rust which I suspect is from a leaking exhaust hose above it.

Too bad. Not a great start but all fixable. Hopefully the remainder of the trip will be a good story! Best of luck Mike.

A friend and I went to Connecticut yesterday and replaced both alternators and sealed the starboard exhaust port. Captain and I are headed back on Wednesday to continue the trip.
