Moved from "Welcome Mat | New Member Introductions" to "Maxum General". Moved to its own thread to avoid hijacking someone else's Introduction and greeting.

They didn't put capacity plates on larger boats. My 97 2800 didn't have a capacity plate either.

There is a formula for 20 ft boats and under for your capacity.

which is length x width ÷ 15 = number of people.

Use it as a very rough idea for your 28 footer. 28 x 9 = 252÷15 = 16.8 passengers. 150 lbs each.

Wow!! I wouldn't know where 16 1/2 passengers would seat or stand on my 2700. Not to mention where I would store that many PFD's.

Your post also said it's based on a 150lb person; I'm way over that at 6'3". Additionally that calculation doesn't take into account gear onboard.

I was carefully trying to avoid slipping of the swimplatform yesterday morning as a result of the 3 inches of snow that was on it from the snow we got yesterday morning. I also got 8 inches of snow last week and 23 inches of snow 2 weeks ago.

Last year we were in the water the last week of April. It's New England, it happens.
