Default buying and registering a new boat

I'm not sure if anyone will know that answer but I'm asking and looking for advice. I am closing on the Maxum 3000scr on Saturday, buying in Connecticut but keeping it in Rhode Island. I want to be able to drive the boat to the slip in Rhode Island after the closing but I'm not sure if I can legally do that.
I can't register the boat until Monday with the DMV opens in Rhode Island. It's a used boat with decals on for the previous owner.
Is this something my broker might be able to help me with? Do they have some kind of "dealer numbers". Is there any kind of a grace period like when you purchase a car?

Thanks in advance for your input.

Legally you are probably required to update the registration before moving the boat, however if the current stickers are up to date you should be able to get away with running her to the new home without anyone being the wiser.

Note: I am not a lawyer nor know the law in you area. If in doubt check with you local DMV.
