Default Bravo 3 vibration

1998 maxum 2800 scr
7.4l with bravo 3
Owned 4 years.

So 3rd trip out this year I was at cruising speed and entering a bay leading into a river.
There was a lot of debris and logs after the recent rain so I just started to throddle down to turn around when the boat felt strange.
Kinda like cavitation and lost a bit of power and vibrated a bit.
Didn't feel anything hit though.
Now the boat labors and vibrates a bit trying to get on plane
Once on plane everything seems fine.
I trimmed the drive all the way up.
Props sent bent that I can tell. Seems fine.
Before I pay to have it pulled any thoughts on what to look for?
Maybe line wrapped around shaft but props spin freely by hand in neutral
Thanks as always for an info provided
Mark

Something got lose......?
Or the worst outdrive giving up, engine coupling. Can be more than one thing. Hard to say from here. But I would not use it like that. You may end up stuck in the middle of the bay.

I'm a pretty good mechanic but outdrive dare fairly new to me.
Did bellows, gimbal etc but that's it
I know if coupler engine has to come out
If coupler.
For those who did it what was the cost?
Thanks

I have not heard of a failing coupler cause vibration. Even though you can not detect it I bet the props are slightly damaged.

Yeah. That's encouraging.
I'll pull them and drop them off at a shop to get checked out.

So I pulled the props off the bravo 3 today.
That's not a fun job in the water and without inner prop nut 7" deep socket. Buying that for re installation.
Something definitely got the inner prop. It's bent a bit.
Dropping off this weekend. I'll posted results once installed but guessing that's my problem.
Thanks for all the info
Mark

It’s nice to find hard evidence for an issue before spending money.

Will they be able to fix a SS prop? IS there any grinding in the outdrive itself? There is no prop hub on a BIII. The stiff SS prop can transfer a lot of force to the gears. I had a 1" tear from something I hit that sheared the gears in the top end. (I ended up replacing my drive). Admittedly, at the time, I heard a decent <BANG> when I hit a submerged log. I never saw the log, even after coming off plane.

The shaft seems fine by visual inspection.
This prop service place has been around a long time and can highly recommended. Only two in my area.
Owner says he can fix and balance stainless props. I guess they use some computer to reshape and balance.
At this point I think all I can do is get them repaired, install on the boat, and see how it feels.
If there is still a problem I'll have to get boat lifted out and drive worked on.
I really wish they made aluminum props for the bravo 3. Would help with the electrolysis too.
I didn't feel anything hit so hopefully not any further damage.
I'll post back results.
Thanks mark
