Boating tubes

What is a good brand of tube? How long do they last? I have 3 girls ages from 9 to 17 and friends :shock: I will be looking for a tube that can take a beating, I was thinking of one that holds 2 riders any info would be good

I have a 'SeaDoo' brand 3 place tube. It is very durable and great for all ages, even the wee little ones. I think I have a pic in my gallery. If not, I will post one shortly. I will also try to find a good source that ships o'r the pond.

I have an O'Brien Delta Double ... great for 1 or 2 .... had it now for 7 years, and used & abused, had it airborne many times.

I have found and ordered a Delta Double, they are on sale for allot less then most other tubes out there, thanks for the tip. I also ordered a tow line that is rated for pulling a 4 man tube that can be made shorter from 60 feet to 50 feet, I belive this is for ruff water use? How long is the tow rope that your using and how fast have you been towing.

I bought the 'inflatable tow rope' form Overtons ... I would guess it's out at around 75'

It's a thick yellow braided rope.

We tow depending on who is on it ... if it is the kids at barely planning speeds, with adults as fast as conditions allow ... very frequently getting them airborne ... Delta Double flys well.

What you will find out is that you can get the boat into a sling shot, you carry out a turn, then an opposite turn so tube goes form one beam to the other, the acceleration is wicked .. rider will be out horizontal ... only his arms touching, and when he comes to the end of the arc .. often pops off and then skim s & bounces over the water.

We only do that to those that are confident on the water and want the adrenalin rush.

Buy an electric pump ... it's a big beast to pump up otherwise.

I carry mine stowed on boat ... boat it up when needed, and deflate it when finished save taking up the room.
I keep the pump on-board in a waterproof sandwich box ... to protect it.

Just got the Air Head Mega Slice - 4 person tube. It is great for the times when you have a bunch of the kids that want to go out together. It also doubles great as a swim platform or a sun island when ancored in the coves. The kids love it. Check out Ebay for best prices.

Have you had it on the water yet? Sounds like a great tube.

This morning it is all of 40 degrees (F). Water temps around here are at best, 41-42 degrees (heavy snow runoff). Can't wait till summer gets here (mid August?).

Go figure, global warming?
