Default Boat finally on the water but still a couple of issues

Hi all got my boat on the water today after nearly 4 months of work

killed a prop and it didn't perform very well but still, it was under its own steam

There must have been something in the water, as soon as I pushed off the prop found it. So that wouldn't of helped the performance either.

and the performance issue i think is due to the ignition timing still not being quite right. Also because I'm running it in I can't just nail the throttle.

Do they normally take quite a bit of throttle to get them on the plain? (4.3 1900 SR)

Also my rev counter only marginlly seems to be connected to the engine. The engine revs up and then the counter thinks about it then goes up a bit any ideas?

They generally take about 3/4 throttle to pop onto the plane.... then you can throttle back.

Hi Gaz,

You have done very well to get her on the water from where you were last thursday certainly a lot of hard work. Some teething problems are inevitable....
If you have killed the prop badly it will have a big impact on performance.
I would try and get hold of a cheap ali prop in a 19 or 21 pitch to use as a baseline for comparrison and go from there.
The rev counter issue could just be moisture in the guage mine had a similar issue, it would read up to 3000rpm and get stuck, but now I am storing the boat undercover it seems to have thourghly dried out and works fine.

I've not done the prop any favours at all and that was the first two mins.

Its not completely finished still got the rest of the anti-foul to remove and a lot of polishing to do, bit of painting on the dash inlays, battery switch to install, few little jobs

Quite a big thing though might have to buy a new car as I couldn't pull it out the lake (Front wheel drive is no good) plenty of power but couldn't put it down
