has anyone put a automatic setup in?

Yes I is pt in 2 Rule low profile pumps in. They come with detailed instructions for automatic and manual operation as an option. I chose th automatic only option. You will need to purchase a fuse and fuse holder if you don't have one available. You will also have to decide whether you want it to run whenever needed wich could run down the batteries or just when you close a breaker or have engne running.

With trailer boats, I usually use a on-off-on switch to control the auto and manual modes. When in the water, I set switch to auto which allows it to operate off the float as needed. Manual will run it whenever I want. Off allows it to be totally disconnected if I'm on the trailer and don't want it to cycle automatically.

This does require a fused hit lead directly from the battery to use as a supply for the pump as most of the power for the panel will be connected to a battery switch (which you turn off when not using the boat).

I also stick with the old school pumps with float switches. Some newer pumps have 'sensors' which cycle periodically to check for water and will drain battery over time.

Jparsons121 gives good advice and points out the automatic sense feature that can drain batteries. I have not experienced it but I'm on mine almost daily. The separate float switch makes maintenance easier long term. Be carefull where and how you mount. Most hulls have a glassed in pad for mounting. You can also use stringers just apply 3M 5200 to screws before installation. Don't use screws that are too long!!

Your last response didn't make sense. Did you hav a problem with an existing pump? Is so, what kind? Most are very serviceable by simply remove and cleaning the impeller area out and float switch. If you plan on replacing then it won't hurt to play with it.
