Default Anchor Wise? Looking for anchor advice.

Finally got my 'new' boat out this weekend for the inaugural '3 hour' cruise.
All went very well.

As this is my 1st trip out with a bigger boat (95' 2300 SC), I anchored amongst submerged boulders with my steel 'pickle' fork and got it wedged. We had moderate winds and no amount of work could get it to release. Cut rope, went home. Its about 30' down. I plan to return and tie a mooring bouy for future use. I still plan to dive there. May get it back someday.

Anyone have advice on anchor styles, sizes, etc. for this size of boat? We boat in a number of different bottom types (rock, sand, muck) depending on the area and lake. I boat in the 'Inland' Northwest area of Washington/Idaho.

try for one of those shuval types..or the plow types...those have a place to attach a recovery line to it to help break it loose....
