Default Add A Starting Battery ?

Hi All.

I have 2 dual purpose batteries connected to a charger and perko switch, but was thinking of adding a starting battery. Could I just remove the cables to the 2 batteries and put a battery on the other side of the engine compartment. I wouldn't think it would need to be connected to the charger or the perko.

Just a thought.

you can connect the starting battery at position 1 at your switch, and connect the other 2 batteries at each other and than connect them at position 2

so if you buy a starter of 120 amp and already have 2 batteries of 200 amp, than you have 120 amp on position 1, and 400 amp on position 2,

i dont know what kind of boat you have, but if you dont have shore power, make a connexxion at the outside of the boat directly to your motorcompartiment and install a battery charger, then when your somewhere in a harbour with the boat and can take power from the land, you can use everything, and at the same time the batteries are loaded.

succes, ed

your gonna need to change the wiring to parallel battery setup....then you can connect to BATT 2 position....

second thing to concider is the size of the batt charger...

might wanna do some research on that...but why change to a start batt...they aren't as deep cycle as a regular deep cycle batt...
