Does anyone have a link/copy to an owners manual for a 2003 Maxum 2400SCR? I’m new to the group (and boat), I don’t seem to be able to find what I’m looking for at this site.
Hi Shrew, Not really having any issues, the boat (though old) is new to us and we are trying to understand the systems… engine, cooling, electrical switches/fuses, etc.
Right now we are struggling to find the VIN number on the block. I know where it’s supposed to be, but it’s not. All we know is that it’s a 5.0l engine with an Alpha Gen 2 lower unit… I’ve run into difficulties in the past with these Mercruisers where “ordering parts” can be real specific to the VIN number.
Mercruiser uses GM base engines which are pretty standard. Main thing is to know the year, carb vs injection. Mercruiser manuals can be found under Documents of this site. The outdrive is Alpha 1 Gen 2 not much else needed to know when getting parts.
