Default Tow rig for 2001 scr3300

Thinking of using a 2001 F350 crewcab dually 2wd. Seems the boat and trailer are on the heavy side. Any experience with this set up? Thanks

That would seem suitable for the job. We have at least one other member who is towing his own 3300. I don't recall if his tow vehicle is a dually. Hopefully he'll pipe in.

Try PMing HavaMax to see if he responds. If so have him reply in this thread.

I had a 06 Ford 350 diesel 4x4 long bed.it was rated for 11,000 pounds to pull. I used it to pull my 01 Maxum 3000.It pulled so well sometimes it felt like the boat and trailer weren't attached?

Now stopping is a different matter, so make sure your trailer brakes are working. Then last item is your hitch is to my sure it's rated for at least 15,000 lbs. Make sure it is bolted on to the trucks frame properly. And to answer your question. ...yes it will do fine!

Thank you. The first thing I’m going to do is put a class v hitch on it and helper bags. The trailer has 3 axles of electric over hydraulic bakes. A smart trucker friend told me can come off a mountain going too slow as many times as you want but only once too fast. I’ll keep that advice in mind at all times

It must have been that great trailer you had. I’ve put many miles on it already. I did put a electric over hyd brake controller on it. Now it stops as good as it pulls.

I just purchased a 2004 3300 SE and found a triple axel trailer.
I towed the boat and trailer about 60 miles with a 3500 dodge. Towed well.
If you haven't, Check with your state, Mine said that in most cases towing a trailer over 10,000 gvw now requires a cdl.
Good Luck!

I don’t have to have a cdl,but I do need wide load permits. You can drive a 18 wheeler without a cdl as long as its recreational

Most states if your load is wider than 8' 6" have to display it is a wide load and have a wide load permit in hand. Consult your local DMV in your state. Most states do not require a CDL if you are pulling with a truck vehicle and not a Tractor rig.

I tow my 3300 with an '02 Silverado with a 6.0 on a triple axle trailer. I only tow it twice a year, in and out. It works great.
