I bought mine last year. It's a great boat. My only 2 complaints are that the cockpit is too small and the bow rails are flimsy. Other than that the boat is awesome. It handles great and the interior layout is one of the best around. I've got the 450 Cummins which gives me a 19Kt cruise. Good luck with your purchase.

Love the boat. Couple of common issues:
1) ac condensate drains into forward bilge - a drain rework fixes this.
2) septic odor can come up through fridge vent - replace hoses & check hose connections.
Yup, bow rails are thin but they seem to hang in there fine. Great boat, nice to drive.

We just got our new to us 2001 46 scb last april and are very pleased. Ours has the 480hp Volvos with edc and and it has plenty of power. Do not get one with the 370 Cummins as they are grossley under powered for a 31k lbs+ boat with a planning hull. that combo will barley do 17.5 knots with light load and will not hold plane with a full load! The 450 Cummins should be your min engine choice. We do a lot of 9.5 knt cruising at 1100 rpm = 2.5 mpg or 2100 rpm =18.5 knts with 1mpg! Ditto on the Bow rails but ours are holding fine with no stress cracks. The coast guard measurement for this boat is 42'7" transom to bow 46' overall inc. swim grid (4'). we moved up from a 1990 3888 Bayliner and have not looked back!
