Default Black water tank leak

Well I have been in refusing to belive it since we bought the boat 2 years ago, but we have a leak in our black water tank on our 4100SCA. Slow leak, but a leak. Probably on the bottom as it doesn't seem to make a difference with tank level. Has anybody replaced this tank? I think I will have to totally disassemble the aft bed and most of the flooring.

Not the entire bed, just the foot of the bed. Once removed you should see a plywood screwed down and partially wedged under potable water tank. This slides out and you'll have access to complete black water tank.

Thank you, you made my day. If you ever find me at a dock I will buy you a beer! Did you replace your tank or repair it?

No issues with tank, I replaced the water tank sensing unit due to a leak.

We definitely have an odour in the aft cabin of our 1997 4100 SCA. Really hoping the tank is not leaking. Did replacing the sensor fix this issue?

The sending unit I replaced was for the potable water tank not black water tank. Apologies for the confusion. I too had an odor and replaced the black water tank pump out sanitation hose. This meant new adhesive around the output flange and tightening of the receptacle into the tank. Odor eliminated. Check there first.

Ok thanks. Is the hose easy to access? What type of hose did you replace this with. We have only had boat a few weeks

We have a 2001 and access is through the aft cabinet in the aft cabin. Replacing the sanitation hose was difficult and I used fuel line hose of the same diameter which made replacement easy
