Default 3300 SCR Bi-Fold Transom Door?

We have a 2001 3300 - I do not like that the transom door does not open fully and instead rests against the starboard side bench. I was wondering if anyone has utilized a bi-fold door? A bi-fold would allow us to lay it flat against the inboard side of the transom and not take up bench space. Any ideas?

Not that familiar with your boat model but can you cut it up the middle and install a piano hinge?

thanks Mike, that was the thought, I just wanted to know if anyone has tried it before and if there were reasons not to do it.

Thanks!

Depending on the hinge you may need to add a block to keep the door from inverting. Use all thru bolt and nuts no screws.

I have done this on my 3300. I got the idea and pics from this site a few years back. Cut down the middle with a circular saw and used 2 friction hinges so it wouldn't fold up when I didn't want it to. Work well. Like the previous post noted, use through bolts. I found some that recessed/taperd on both the bolt head and the nut side.
