Default 1999 4100 SCA / Wire solution for Radar install

New 4100 SCA owner, and just installed Radar on my aft hardtop. Preface this by saying this boat never had Radar installed. I Have the cables dropped from the mount inside the aft sitting area. I'm wondering if anyone has attempted to run cables to the helm, and if so what route did you take. I don't see a lot of options right now, but not completely familiar with the boat just yet. This is what I purchased.

Raymarine Axiom+ 12

Done this a few times. The route goes to the starboard vertical (accessed by panel above on hardtop) then inside flybridge and finally crosses into helm. You'll need 2 people, open all access panels and slicking agent for cable.

Thanks Jorgeinseal, another quick question for you... The starboard and port navigation lights. I know they are Aqua Signal, however I can't find new covers for them. I am going to replace bulbs with LED's, however I need to find the covers and don't care if they are white or black. I've found the black inserts, but can't find the outer covers. I bought replacements that I thought would work, however they are surface mounted and ours are recessed nav lights and now I have to return those. Thanks in advance.

What do you mean Starboard Vertical ? As you can see in the picture, I have them coming out of the oval opening in the hardtop. I circled where I think they would come down. Let me know if that's what you mean. Thanks

Pics c will not load, therefore, on starboard side doorway you'll see a round access panel to the left of door, to get cable there go outside on SB side right above door is an oblong access panel. Cable goes thru radar arch into aft cockpit ceiling then into the vertical by the starboard door accessing the locations I mentioned. Once there, there is a conduit that takes it to the right side of the helm seat, all wiring goes into helm via this space right side of helm seat. I had to push wires through from the front of helm passenger picture attached

My new favorite tool for snaking wires on the boat is a 4’ piece of 1/4” and 1/2” pex. It’s the perfect balance of stiff and flexible. Unlike fish tape, you can hold it up and guide it horizontally … such as along the gunwale. You can tape the wire to the “front” end and push it thru or tape it to the back end so that it follows the path of the pex. Best of luck!

I do not have anything like those big circles in my boat to open so that I can fish wires. I'm trying to figure out how to put them in now that I've seen your boat. I'm guessing since this boat has never had radar, it was built without them. I have no clue.

Thanks
Lenny

Interesting. On the SB side of stairway leading down into salon, do you have a triangle shaped access panel to your right? If so, there is wiring that runs through there that may give a clue as to how boat was wired.

Jorge, I do and have seen wires in that hatch, but the more I'm thinking about this and I'll have to verify. I think the guy who owned the boat before me, might have put speakers where those access circles were in your pics. I'll verify next time I'm down at my boat and will let you know. I'd prefer to run them how you explained.

Did you see my question on the Nav lights ???

Thanks yahoo82... I just happen to have some pex from a water line fix I did when I first got the boat.... I was thinking snake, but you suggestion will work as well I'm sure.
