Fuel Flow sensor

Hi all,
Getting my 2600 SCR ready for the summer, I find the Fuel flow sender
was not working. Checked it out and find that the white sender wire was broken off right where it enters the sender. Can't solder it back on (tried numerous times).
The sender is situated in a vulnerable spot as it can get stepped on when climbing down into the engine cavity.
Suggstions?

Is this an inline flow sender? If so this would be an aftermarket (Flowscan) item and most likely needs to be replaced.

Replace sender and reinforce the wires with a wire wrap and a small wire loom.
