Default 3300 SCR Hull Penitrations

[SIZE=3]I have my newly purchased 3300 SCR in the shipyard for paint and I noticed this thing has about 18 hull penetrations for things like exhaust, condenser water, and drain lines. has anyone ever replaced these on a 3300 SCR? These existing devices are white plastic and I'm thinking it would be a good time to change them all to polished stainless steel. any thoughts or suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Thanks,

Replacing any plastic thru-hulls that are below the water line, on a boat that stays in the water, with metal TH's is definitely a good idea. The plastic fatigues and then possibly cracks much easier than metal. if one of those lets go you have to hope the bilge pumps can keep up.

I'm also interested in hearing how this goes.....would love to do this on my boat. Just afraid that I will get most done and have a few that seem impossible to get to?!?!

Well... darn.

A hand full of these are so small (1/4" ID) I can't find any matching TH fittings. There are literally three side adjacent to each other are just drains from the compartments under the rear seats! They could have easily just tied them all together and had one TH penetration. Now I'll have to increase the size to the smallest available stainless steel TH fitting (1/2" ID). This isn’t going to be cheap but it'll look better against my new Carinthia blue paint and I certainly won’t ever have to worry about them again. You are correct Sir, some of these are very difficult to get too.
