Default 1997 3000SCR transom fix

This has to be a common issue with all older Maxums regardless of models but I got a deal on this one with intensions of correcting the transom. Looking for other owners who had it done and how its working for you today 2025

This isn't a Maxum issue. This is common with all older boats. Particularly I/O's. The typical fix is to remove the engine. Then remove the skin on the inside. Then hog out the rotten coring. Then recore, re-epoxy, reglass, seal. This is the perfect time to repaint the entire engine compartment since you're already painting the transom. Then re-sinstall the engines.
