It wouldn't. A 1 1/2" at the bottom of a tank would be a holding tank. 1/2" clear or pex at the bottom of the tank is likely a water tank.

I haven't logged in for quite some time, so I missed this conversation until now. I have a 1991 2700 SCR and have crawled around just about every sq./inch of that boat. Mine looked very similar when I bought it, 6 seasons ago now.

If you're referring to the corrugated white hose at the top of the water tank in post #16. That looks like an old style of water hose that I have not seen in many years. If I recall, it is corrugated on the outside to allow it to make tight radius' and smooth walled on the inside.

It should be rated for potable water, however it doesn't hold standing water, so it should have a duty cycle measured in decades. Unless the hose is brittle, I would leave it.
