Question Trailer wheel studs?

Hi,

I've suffered a comedy of errors with my trailer but I'm starting to lose my sense of humor!
Its ended up with me snapping a few wheel studs on my trailer.
It's a 13 inch wheel with five studs as illustrated in the attached photo.

The trailer came with the boat when I bought it second hand.
I've attached a pic to see if any of you recognise it.

I just need to order some new studs

Could anyone provide me with the stud dimensions etc so that I can order the right set.

I'm thinking they are probably 1/2 inch but I'm not sure.

Can anyone help?

PS A bonus point to anyone who points out not such a deliberate mistake!!

Here is a photo of the whole trailer to help you identify the trailer

Charlie... first welcome and that is what this website is for.. to help.

I would suggest you take off the hub and either press out them yourself or take it to your local machine shop and they can do it.

I do not know the stud size. You just buy a new hub and go that route.

A very high percentage of Marine trailers use "Tie Down Engineering" products.
Have a look.

I agree with Biggerseagar. If you're shearing these bolts just taknig them off, they have sat for a long, long time. This means they probably weren't greasing the bearings either. This means you should be strongly considering replacing the bearings as well. (If you replace all but one straw, is it still the same broom?). I'd probably consider two new hubs. It may seem like a lot more money. Ask yourself how much money you'd part with if you were sitting on the side of the highway with the weekend or vacation ruined.

Wink Hub now Removed

Yes - wise words indeed.
New hubs definitely seems the right road to go down
A very good friend popped round and took the wheel off followed by the hub.
I now have the hub in hand and will be returning back to the UK to get a replacement.
It has the following codes stamped on the back:
H1377
and
H268

I will have to be very unlucky if I fail to find a match
For completeness, I've attached a photo of the hub with damaged studs and the accompanying bearings.

Wish me luck and I'll let you know whether my search comes up trumps

PS Thanks for sparing my feelings and not pointing out earlier that the wheel was mounted on back-to-front!!

I got a bit ahead of myself.
The stampings on the hub are not all that helpful.
The bearing numbers are the key.
I have an inner bearing, l68149 and an outer bearing l44649.
Different bearings to cope with the tapered axel
I can now safely go ahead with my hub order.
Phew!
