Default stern drive

If i have a 5.0 mercrusier engine on a 23 ft bowrider is there a specific sterndrive associated with that engine. such as a alpha 1 or 2 or a bravo. How do i know what sterndrive I have

Most likely it's either an Alpha 1 Gen 2 or a Bravo 3 (dual prop).

If your raw water pump is in the drive it's an Alpha. It it's belt driven it's a Bravo.

The serial number should tell the model. As stated water pump on the engine is a Bravo. Dual counter-rotating props is Bravo III.
