Siphon Fuel

Hi there.

Any suggestions how to siphon the fuel from my tank.

Got a bit of a sludge problem apparently.

Any advice will be appreciated.

sludge problem? What kind of engine?

It sounds like the issues seen with the Cool Fuel modules. They painted the inside of the cool fuel module. Gasoline would turn the paint to a sludge that starts to clog the injectors.

What age vessel? There was another issue with older pre-ethanol fuel that would cause the lining of the fuel lines to de-scale and cause clogging issues.

algae is a diesel issue. Is this gas or diesel??

I should add more information when i ask questions.

The 2200SC is 1993 model.

Is 1 5.7 litre Chevy with a Edelbrock carburettor.

It has a 100 litre under floor aluminium fuel tank.

i sent the carby away to be serviced. I have checked the fuel pumps and wiring.

It starts fine, but just runs out of juice.

The latest theory is sludge blocking the fuel intake.

So before I give up totally and put the whole boating experience behind me, I want to try and clean this fuel tank out and see what happens.

How long does it run before losing power? A clogged fuel tank vent can cause this. Next time it occurs open the fuel fill cap and if you hear a air sound your vent is clogged.
