Default Replacing Boarding Ladder

I have a 1997 2300 sr. I bought a replacement ladder with 3 steps vs the std 2 step. Question, do I just remove the bolts or are there nuts on the backside? I can't find any access to the backside in any case. Big fear of getting halfway and then get stuck. Tx

Welcome aboard Lucknow!!

I move this post to its own thread.

I grew up boating on Lake Winnipesaukee. I live in Southern NH.

The swimstep will have washers and nylon locknuts backing it.

I have 1 2100 that has no ladder (missing when purchased used). where did you find the 3 step ladder? I have contacted windline and its not made anymore. i will look on my boat to confirm but the bolts that hold the brackes to the deck have nuts attached under the platform accessed thru the engine compartment. Just installed transducer for FF and know it is open in that area. thanks

Have you look at woodline? They provided the OEM ones, else just google boarding ladders to fine one on the WEB

Happy Spring!! Look at all the hi-jacks!!!

@JackRabbit & jdog79..Welcome aboard. hijacking threads is typically frowned upon. The OP is asking about how to replace. You're jumping in with "Where to Find".

In the future please consider starting a new thread.

The MAxum OEM for ladders is typically "Windline" (mmwjr got hit with a weird spellcheck issue).

https://www.windline.com/

You will need to determine the type of ladder first. (e.g Under Platform; Over PLarform; or Slide Ladders).

A number of chandleries will sell this brand.

I am looking to replace my 2 step ladder with a 3 step however the overall length will make it stick out a little bit. Has anybody every replaced with one that was a little longer?

Default Ladder length

Murfulater,

Not sure what type of ladder you have. I have the slide under. Originally came with 2 step as I noted. I ended up having the 3 step installed by the marina since much of the rear was disassembled to partially pull the engine last summer. :-(

$100 for install, and the 3 step sticks out around 1.5" further.

HUGE improvement.

Normally, I'd split off the new post and put this zombie thread out of its misery. But then the OP jumped back on. Many thanks for the follow-up Lucknow. I'm glad to hear it worked out.

Since this almost never happens, lets see where it goes.

Mine is like that the slide under type. Does the 1.5" sticking out pose a problem?? I feel the 3rd step is just needed.

I couldn't see how it would cause a problem. If it comes close to a dock, so will the prop. Look at how far back the running gear is sitting in relation to the edge of the swim platform.
