http://www.boatus.org/onlinecourse/s....html#Reckless

No person shall operate any vessel or manipulate water skis or similar towed devices in a reckless or negligent manner. The failure to exercise the degree of care necessary to prevent endangering life, limb, or property may be considered reckless and negligent. Below are just a few of the forbidden methods of operation in New York.
  • To speed in no-wake zones.
  • To weave through congested waterway traffic.
  • To operate under the influence of alcohol or drugs.
  • To operate at night without proper navigation lights
  • To operate at excessive speeds for prevailing conditions.
  • To operate a boat within an area clearly marked as restricted.
  • To allow passengers to ride on the bow section of a boat not designed for passengers while underway.
  • To operate any boat beyond its safe carrying capacity of passengers or cargo taking into consideration weather and operating conditions.
  • To operate at more than 5 miles per hour when within 100 feet of the shoreline, a dock, pier, raft, float or anchored boat. Some areas may be more restrictive.
  • To maneuver such that your vessel or another vessel must abruptly swerve or abruptly cut speed to avoid collision, or to operate such that your vessel collides with another vessel, object or person.
I would check. That "Below are just a few" is too vague.

Just bought my first boat!! 2008 2100 SC3 and Love it!! Dealer put it in the water to get checked out and has given me two weeks of free dock space. Have not loaded it onto the trailer yet or off loaded it so I have many challenges ahead of me. Just trying to figure out the user manuel. Say's things are in one location but I find them in another... very confusing. Trie to post a picture here but it won't let me upload from my computer... asks for a URL. Oh well Just joined!

Congratulations on the 2100 SC3 SB, happy faces on you two in the video! I think these are pretty decent do (almost) everything boats

Wife and I have a 2004 model 2400 SC3. While the hulls rides ok, if you boat in choppy waters do consider adding trim tabs (I'm sure your dealer will be happy to relieve you of even more of your money). The tabs will really help smooth out the ride, especially on a lighter boat.

As far as launching off/loading on the trailer goes, 2 bits of advise; make a check list and execute the list very slowly.

Thanks Dan, I'm sure the dealer will be more than happy to clean my already empty wallet. I did notice with chop at 3,000rpm it was slapping pretty hard and scared the heck outta me. I also am looking for a missing cooler. I think the boat when new, came with an Igloo Marine cooler that has a fitted slot for it under the sink behind the skippers seat which locks it in place. The boat came used so the cooler was missing. If any person still has theres I would love to find out the make and model so I can replace the missing one. Dave

Dave,

Trim tabs will help an awful lot with the ride in sloppy seas. Is one of those modifications that, after completed, you wonder why you didn't do it sooner. Night and day really, and they also help to level the boat side to side to account for shifting loads/passengers. I have a post in the projects section that describes my recent adventure with adding tabs to our 2400.

When we bought our boat the cooler was also missing. Thinking it was a "special" size I ordered one from a local, former, Maxum dealer - to the tune of 60-ish dollars. A little hard to swallow. Your boat probably uses the same size as mine.

It's an Igloo, here's their selection of marine coolers: http://www.igloo-store.com/products/...e/marineseries. I think it's the 25 but can't swear to it.

Next time I head down to the marina I'll measure it for ya.

Let's try this...sunset on Osoyoos Lake...our boat is out there

If you click on the thumbnail it should be larger.
