Question New Maxum Owner Questions

Well I found a diamond.
2006 Maxum 1800 SR3
4.3 Carb. w/ an Alpha 1
only 92 hours on it
and Hull, seats, etc. in xcelent condition.
Has the factory bimini. and the separate bow to aft snap on covers.
$14,995

After looking around, it seamed like a great deal.
Oh, and plus one year of storage for free at the lake.

So my question is, is there anything I should keep my eyes on, on these boats?
We took it out for the first time last weekend on Lake Mead.
BTW this is a test to see how often we go out, might upgrade to a larger boat in the next couple years.
"Lake Mead can get rough."
Right now I am running a 3 blade 19" Alum prop.
I have read that the high fives are great for the hole shot, is there anything in between?
The factory JBL radio is not bad, though I did replace the 6.5 speakers with some new Alpines......"Much Better.
Might have to get a lil more power to them, so I have been eyeballing the new Fusion class D line stereos.

Now if could just get the trim down just right for the choppy waters out here.

Thank You All,
It's nice to see a lot of Maxum owners in one place.

Domain let me be the first to say welcome to this website.

I have a 3000 so not sure about your prop.

I have told you want something to shake bark off of a tree , lots of amps and a big sub-woofer will get the job done.

You with practice will figure out the trim. Once that bow comes up you will feel your sort of take off and you have hit your sweet spot.

Sounds like you got a great deal so be safe and have fun this summer.

Welcome aboard Domani!!

Congrats on the new boat.

Props: Start here. http://www.mercurymarine.com/propellers/prop-selector/

There are a good number of posts on here on how to prop your boat properly. Trim tabs might help with the chop.
